Introducing MEM's Renewed Strategy..and New Look!

You may have noticed we are looking a little different around here! We hope that you will be reassured to know that our purpose as an organisation have not changed: we exist to reach the people of the Middle East with the life-transforming hope of Jesus Christ through the creative use of media.

Three years ago, our international leadership teams felt convicted to begin reviewing MEM’s role amidst the changing landscapes of both the Arab world. Over the past few years, our MEM teams have been seeking God’s guidance on the future of the organisation and working hard to renew our strategy to best meet the needs of the local people. Therefore, though our purpose remains unchanged, the way in which it is realised is shifting.

Our 47 years of experience has proven that the most effective way of reaching the unreached in the region is by empowering local believers, who are able to relate to those from their background in ways that even people from a neighbouring Arab nation cannot. The majority of Christian media in the region is produced by believers from Christian backgrounds in Egypt and Lebanon; yet there are hundreds of unrepresented and unreached people groups in this region who are yet to encounter the love of Jesus. We are therefore increasingly mobilising local believers from different backgrounds who are passionate about creating media that brings the light of Christ to their own communities.

A comprehensive rebrand was an appropriate step in defining the renewed strategy of MEM and communicating that outwardly.

We will continue to share more about these changes over the coming months, but we are keen to highlight our new tagline, ‘Transforming Lives with Unstoppable Hope’, which is central to our re-focusing. Our aim is to bring His encouragement and hope to even the darkest situations. We have been equipping our media teams and now other content creators with the skills they need to reach their own people with the same hope we have in Jesus.
