URGENT Call2Prayer: Team travelling to Syria

Our team in North Africa need our fervent prayers as they travel to Syria this week to do training with local believers for the first time.

Five colleagues from our media and training teams will conduct two of our most successful training programmes, Future Leaders and Life in the Desert, during their 7-day visit in Syria. Since announcing the Future Leaders training, we have had 25 people sign up straight away, which is the fastest take up we’ve ever had for this training. It truly shows the need and desire that Syrians have to build up their own lives and also contribute to their communities in a significant way.

Our team is extremely excited about having this unique opportunity to equip Syrian Christians to bring lasting changes to their country. The training will consist of teaching about leadership skills, followed by sessions on media which will include the four main areas of video production: content writing, filmmaking, editing, and directing. In addition, we will offer mentoring sessions on personality building and life skills. The training will finish with the trainees being asked to create their own visual media with guidance from the trainers. This will be followed by them demonstrating how to use their new media and leadership skills to support and grow their own communities.

Please pray with us for the following:

  • Lord, we thank you that we have willing staff to travel and provide this much needed training to Syrians. We thank you for their courage and vision.

  • We pray for their protection during their time in Syria, especially while they travel. We pray they would have smooth transitions; their luggage would not get lost and there would be no cancellations. We pray for their personal safety and also safety of the community they will be serving.

  • We thank you Lord for the church that is willing to host this training and that there are many willing participants. Pray that many more will be able to join.

  •  We pray that all trainees will be in good health and able to attend ALL the days of training.

  • We pray the trainers would be able to communicate well and support any trainees who are struggling or finding it difficult. We pray there would be good relationships between all and that valuable connections are created.

  • We pray for protection on the Church and Christians living in Syria. May your Spirit bring comfort and hope for their future. May your hand, Lord, provide for their needs. Amen.
